Amber Velez
Amber Velez is a master’s candidate in the Precision Engineering Research Group with Professor Alexander Slocum. Her research couples electrolytic hydrogen production with mining wastewater treatment, with the aim of reducing water use in hydrogen electrolysis. Amber earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Creative Writing at MIT in 2024. She enjoys discovering the narrative in any experience, and framing that narrative to hit home with a wide range of audiences. Outside the lab, she can be found running by the Charles River or hammering iron in the forge.
